Let’s Get This Show On The Road

Hello, hello & hello, thanks for taking the time to find my little place on the web.  My name is Steve, I’m from the UK and I am attempting to grow a small bankroll (£100) on Betfair into a large bankroll via trading on the football markets.

For years I was your regular gambler, placing bets and hoping and praying that my luck was in.  As many of you will no doubt have found out, defeat can often be snatched from the jaws of victory and leave a bitter after taste in your mouth.

I’m a semi-professional poker player & I call myself semi-pro, because I rely on my poker winnings to pay some of my bills and I don’t play in any live tournaments or anything like that, I only play cash games online.

In 2007 I attempted to ditch the day job and become a full time Betfair Trader on the horses using the excellent trading software from Racing Traders alongside a healthy bankroll.  I didn’t put enough preparation into learning the system and I quickly blew my entire bankroll within 2 weeks, by trying to trade on risky markets and at much too high stakes.

I gave up on making a living from trading and went back to the poker, grinding out my usual $500 to $1000 per month, most of my poker income goes towards paying some long standing loans and chipping away at my mortgage whenever possible.

I am a keen football fan and in April 2009, I devised a little system for trading on the footy and I started off small and manage to achieve an excellent ROI (return on investment).  After explaining to a friend at work exactly how I intended to trade, my mate informed me that he’d bought a trading system from a bloke called Ian Erskine, which was broadly based around the same principles & market of trading which I had set for myself.  Ian’s trading system is known as the Football Trading System or FTS for short.  I have since purchased Ian’s ebook and I have to say it’s a well put together & professional looking package, which will definitely deliver on it’s promise of delivering profits.  Not only did I receive the ebook, but I will now receive his trading selections for life, every day that he trades.

I have decided to use Ian’s system & the selections which he emails through alongside my own selections using the method I thought of earlier this year.  I’ll be keeping detailed records of how my trades have performed and I’ll be comparing the performance of my selections to Ian’s and analysing them to hopefully make me a better trader.  I’m sure Mr Erskine will teach me a thing or two about match selection

The 2009/2010 season will be a bit of a slog, but hopefully financially rewarding.  My aim is to trade on about 15 days per month on all football leagues, but mainly focussing on the Premier League, Championship, Champions League and Internationals.

I am looking to steadily increase my bankroll by an average of 2% each day that I trade, if I manage to do this sucessfully between now and the end of May 2010, my £100 will have turned into £1448.85, at which point I would up the stakes and go for it full time.
